The view out of my office is stunning. Usually, I don't bother to look at it, which is sad. I just watched a ferry disappear into the fog...I can see the snow capped Olympics and the sun is shining. Looks like it's going to be a great day!

I can usually deal with Seattle winters. It rains. It's dark when you get to work and when you leave. Weeks go by without any discernible evidence that the sun will ever shine again. You get used to it. This winter might push me over the edge. The rain, the snow, the rain and now the possibility of more snow and temperatures in the teens. For people in colder climates this doesn't sound like a big deal but it's crippling here. The last snowstorm found me trapped in the car on the freeway for several hours and the windstorm left me in the dark for a few days. If that happens again, I will be very unhappy...
I realize that the holidays are over but I'm still trying to come to terms with it! Not that I'm sad that they are over, more that it has been a difficult couple of weeks and I'm glad it's January. On the up side, the s.o. has a new job, we bought a new car (photos and a more detailed post about The Za is forthcoming), things seem to be o.k. at work (but you never know) and we have a 2 week holiday coming up - far, far away...
